BEIRUT: Four Civil Defense vehicles doused a forest fire in Aley Monday, a security source told The Daily Star.
According to the security source, a forest fire erupted in pine forests in the Aley region towns of Bdaddoun and Qmatieh, but firefighters successfully extinguished the fire before it spread.
Investigations into the cause of the blaze are ongoing. The source said that increasing temperatures may be the cause. Several minor forest fires erupted across Lebanon over the weekend after the increase in temperatures.
