The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - An-Nahar: One of Arab Baath Socialist Party founders disappears in Aley - May 28, 2011

An unnamed security source has said that Syrian national Shebli Aysami, one of the founders of the Arab Baath Socialist Party, disappeared around 11:00 p.m. on May 24 from the Lebanese town of Aley, An-Nahar newspaper reported on Saturday.
Aysami arrived in Lebanon with his Syrian wife from Washington to spend summer in Aley where his married daughter lives, the report said, adding that Aysami disappeared while walking near his house amid “mysterious circumstances.”
“Relevant security forces were informed,” the source also said, adding that there are ongoing efforts to find him.
