The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Syrian temporarily opens northern border for refugees’ return, report says - May 27, 2011

Voice of Lebanon (100.5) radio reported on Friday morning that Syrian envoys have informed Lebanese border authorities near the northern town of Arida that Syrian refugees in Lebanon’s Wadi Khaled will be permitted to return to Syria between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday.
According to reports, around 4000 Syrians have fled their country to seek refuge in northern Lebanon in the past weeks.
More than 1000 people have been killed and thousands have been arrested since the pro-democracy protests began in Syria mid-March, rights groups have said.
