The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Saqr charges 12 for resisting ISF members - May 05, 2011

Government Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr on Thursday charged 12 people for resisting the efforts of Internal Security Forces members to demolish illegal constructions in Beirut’s southern suburb of Ouzai, according to the National News Agency.
During the last two weeks, Lebanon has witnessed many clashes between security forces and residents of southern villages and South Beirut suburb of Dahiyeh amid attempts to remove illegal construction sites from these areas.
