The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - An-Nahar: Meeting held in Bkirki to address Lasa incidents - July 21, 2011

A meeting was held at Bkirki’s Maronite Patriarchate on Wednesday to address the assault on a Maronite delegation and a media crew in the Jbeil town of Lasa, whose majority of residents support Hezbollah, An-Nahar newspaper reported on Thursday.
Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros al-Rai chaired the meeting that comprised of relevant officials, including Change and Reform MPs Simon Abi Ramia, Walid Khoury and Abbas Hashem who represent the Jbeil district, the paper said.
Hezbollah representative Ghaleb Abu Zeinab and Hassan al-Moqdad also took part in the meeting, the paper added.
On Tuesday, MTV network’s crews were prevented from carrying out their reporting tasks in Lasa, where a Maronite delegation was also assaulted and prevented from surveying a piece of land belonging to the Maronite Patriarchate last week.
