The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

BEIRUT: A three-member gang of thieves, including a 67-year-old man, has been arrested, the Internal Security Forces announced Thursday.Two Lebanese and a Palestinian were detained after the ISF monitored the members of the gang, which was active in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, using a light-green 1975 Mercedes.The ISF said the men would lure their victim into sitting in the window seat in front, next to a gang member seated in the middle.The “passenger” would then pretend to reach across and lock the door of the car, while relieving the victim of his valuables.The ISF said the members confessed to carrying out dozens of robberies in this fashion.
