Iloubnan - Fayez Karam's trial deferred, November 24, 2011

The Military Cassation Court on Thursday deferred the resumption of General Fayez Karam's trial till forthcoming December 20. The Court, which approved a demand to repeal a former sentence of a three-year imprisonment and deprivation of civil rights, today interrogated Karam and adjourned the session in view of procedure, settlement on a release plea, and putting out his criminal record. General Fayez Karam, Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) official and former head of the Lebanese Army's anti-terrorism and counter-espionage unit during the 1980s, was indicted for collaborating with Israel by the Military Court first Investigative Judge in December 2010.
