iloubnan- Marouni: Mikati trying to escape pledges, November 21, 2011

MP Elie Marouni said Monday tackling STL issue during Cabinet is a way out for Prime Minister to escape pledges he took before international and Arab forums.

Marouni, currently in Canada, told Al-Sharek radio that this government belongs to Hezbollah and Syria and thus is against funding the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

"This issue might subject Lebanon to facing economic and political crises that could be avoided," he said.

Also, the MP urged Premier Mikati to execute his commitments otherwise; it is preferable that he resigns.

On the occasion of Lebanon's Independence Day, Marouni reiterated Lebanese holding on to their sovereignty, freedom, and Cedars' revolution principles.
