In an interview with the  LBC television on Thursday evening, Lebanese Prime Minister Mikati announced that he would resign if the governnement eventually decides not to fund the Special Tribual for Lebanon. "My conscience is relieved," he said during the interview.

"The current policy in Lebanon is to stay away from any regional bias, especially away from the influence that the current events in Syria can have on our internal scene," the head of government told the LBC.

Reaffirming his ongoing work in terms of the protection of Lebanon and the resistance, Mr. Mikati warned that any non-compliance with international commitments would be a dangerous way for Lebanaon, urging ministers and politicians to take this fact into account.

Mr. Mikati denied the presence of any discord between Sunnis and Shiites in the country.

Regarding Hezbollah weapons, he said that he was "against weapons out of the possession of state," but that he supported "the weapons of Hezbollah in the South against Israel."
