iloubnan- Proportionality law is equitable, says Salhab, November 8, 2011

MP Salim Salhab told "Voice of Lebanon" radio station on Tuesday that "the Change and Reform bloc supports the law of proportionality and the reforms figured in the law of the former Minister Ziad Baroud."

"The law of proportionality is fair and the voices that oppose it today are those who challenged the 1960 law and are now asking to adopt it in the coming elections," he said.

Mr. Salhab hoped to approve this law by the end of the year so that all parties can prepare for the elections.

"We hope to achieve, with President Michel Sleiman and the Quadripartite Committee of Bkerke, a unified law to be approved by all parties," he added.

As for the popularity of the "FPM" and its position in the next parliamentary elections, he concluded, "Following the achievements accomplished by the parliamentary bloc, the climate has now become appropriate to strengthen the position of the bloc."
