The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri held talks on Thursday with French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the Elysee Palace in Paris.The two officials discussed the latest developments, especially those related to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and regional affairs.Hariri had recently said on Sunday via Twitter that “Justice will prevail, (the) tribunal has begun its work and soon we will see the criminals behind bars.”Addressing the developments in Syria, he tweeted on November 16 that only Israel, Iran, and Hizbullah along with the current Lebanese government are defending the Syrian regime, reiterating his call on Syrian President Bashar Assad to leave power.
