The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Cabinet to discuss Charbel’s electoral law November 11, November 2, 2011

OTV reported on Tuesday that the cabinet agreed to discuss Interior Minister Marwan Charbel’s electoral law during a session on November 11.On October 3, Charbel handed President Michel Sleiman a draft electoral law based on proportional representation.Lebanese parties are debating the electoral law for the upcoming 2013 parliamentary elections. After the parliament agreed on drafting a law based on proportional representation, some parties rejected the proposed law and called for adopting the 2009 electoral law, which is based on simple majority representation.
