Now Lebanon - Hariri discusses STL with French president, November 24, 2011

Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri discussed the Special Tribunal for Lebanon with French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Thursday morning at the Elysée Palace, according to a statement issued by the MP’s press office.

The statement added that they discussed issues related to paying Lebanon’s share of funding to the STL as well as latest developments. However, no further information was disclosed.

The STL is a UN-backed court investigating the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Four Hezbollah members have been indicted by the tribunal. However, the Shia group strongly denied the charges and refuses to cooperate with the court.

Hariri left Lebanon in April after the powerful Shia militant party, Hezbollah, toppled his government in January.
