NOW Lebanon- Jisr calls for electoral law based on proportionality, not sectarianism , November 20, 2011

Future bloc MP Samir Jisr said on Sunday during an interview with Al-Manar television that “when talking about an electoral law based on proportionality”, the idea of elections based on sectarianism should be dismissed.
He added: “There is no perfect law. Every law has its own pros and cons.”
Lebanese parties are debating a new electoral law for the upcoming 2013 parliamentary elections.
After the parliament agreed on drafting a law based on proportional representation, some parties rejected the draft law which was presented by Interior Minister Marwan Charbel and called for renewing the 2009 electoral law, which is based on simple majority representation.
