NOW Lebanon- Safadi submits treasury loan request to fund STL, paper reports , November 19, 2011

An-Nahar newspaper reported on Saturday that Finance Minister Mohammad Safadi submitted to the cabinet a request for a treasury loan for funding the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) probing the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
The daily also reported that it is not yet clear whether Safadi’s request will be included in the schedule of the next cabinet meeting.
The UN-backed court indicted members linked to Syrian-backed Hezbollah in the Rafik Hariri murder. However, the Shia group denied the charges and refused to cooperate with the court.

Lebanon contributes 49 percent of the STL’s annual funding.
