Future bloc leader MP Fouad Siniora said on Sunday that March 14 wanted the Special Tribunal for Lebanon to be established not to achieve vengeance but to put an end to escaping justice.
On the fifth anniversary of the assassination of former minister Pierre Gemayel, Siniora told the Voice of Lebanon (100.5) radio station that Gemayel was not because he defended Lebanon.
Four Hezbollah members have been indicted by the UN-backed court in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
However, the Shia group strongly denied the charges and refuses to cooperate with the court.
Gemayel was assassinated on November 21, 2006 in Beirut’s northern suburb of Jdeideh, along with one of his guards.
