The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Protesters burn tires in Beirut to demand prison-term reduction, November 1st 2011


BEIRUT: Protesters briefly blocked the highway leading to the capital’s international airport and several other roads with burning tires Tuesday, demanding the reduction in prison term from 12 to nine months.
In addition to the airport road, families of inmates also blocked roads early Tuesday in Msharafiyyeh, Tayyouneh, Burj al-Barajneh and Mar Mikhail.
Security forces dispatched to the troubled areas have reopened all roads to traffic.
