The Daily Star - N. Lebanon border crossing reopened following protest over kidnapping, May 10 2012

BEIRUT: Authorities reopened Thursday one of three border crossings in north Lebanon after dozens of residents from the village Abboudieh blocked the passage in protest of the morning cross-border kidnapping of a fellow citizen.
Security sources, speaking to the The Daily Star on condition of anonymity, said the village residents blocked the Abboudieh border crossing in protest of the abduction of Mahmoud Mohammad Ibrahim, 40.
They said Ibrahim, who hails from Abboudieh, was standing close to a nearby former Security General position when unidentified individuals crossed the border from Syria and snatched him.
A security source in north Lebanon said Ibrahim was kidnapped at 7 a.m. and was taken to Syria.
Intense efforts by Ibrahim’s family to secure his release have failed.
Members of the Internal Security Forces managed to reopen the crossing at 11 a.m. after having initially diverted traffic to the Arida border crossing.
