The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Daily Star - Lebanese to attend U.N. climate change conference, November 24th 2011


BEIRUT: Officials from the Environment Ministry and the Green Party will take part in the annual United Nations meeting later this month to assess global progress and the world’s ability in dealing with climate change, reported the National News Agency Wednesday.
In a meeting at the Environment Ministry, the Green Party called on adopting new global emergency legislation to manage the situation of refugees that have resulted from environmental disasters and climate change in many parts of the world.
This year’s annual meeting will take place in Durban, South Africa between Nov. 28 and Dec. 9.
