The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Berri: Cabinet might postpone false witnesses’ issue - October 12, 2010









Speaker Nabih Berrri said that it is possible to postpone finalizing the issue of the false witnesses until Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s visit to Lebanon ends, adding that it is up to the cabinet to take such a decision, MTV reported on Tuesday.Ahmadinejad will arrive to Beirut on Wednesday for a two-day visit.
Berri said last week that the Development and Liberation bloc ministers will not attend a future cabinet session unless the cabinet is devoted to discussing and finalizing the issue of witnesses who gave false testimonies in the investigation of the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
