The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Hout: Dahiyeh STL incident indicates violation of institutions - Otober 28, 2010









Wednesday’s attack on Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) investigators in Dahiyeh is an “indicator of a violation of the system of legal and judicial institutions,” Al-Jamaa al-Islamiya MP Imad al-Hout told Voice of Lebanon radio on Thursday morning.A group of women charged at STL investigators at a Beirut gynecology clinic in Dahiyeh on Wednesday morning and grabbed a briefcase from them, AFP reported.“It is not yet clear whether the [investigators’] visit took place within a sound legal framework,” Hout said.He added that “it is important to prevent the repetition of such events because they put Lebanon in an unsafe place.”
