The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Rifi arrives to Roumieh Prison - April 3, 2011

MTV reported on Sunday that Internal Security Forces Director General Achraf Rifi arrived at Roumieh Prison.
The report added that the situation there is heading “in the direction of being resolved.”
OTV quoted an unnamed security source as saying that the disobedience in section D of the prison has ended, adding that Lebanese Red Cross members have entered the section.
“Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) - Special Forces have entered the prison… Disobedience in section B of the prison continues,” the source also said, adding that negotiations with the prisoners in section B will carry on.
The National News Agency reported that negotiations in section B are progressing positively, and added that LAF-Special Forces are present in certain positions, ready to intervene if needed.
A riot broke out in Roumieh Prison on Saturday when prisoners began protesting cell searches.
