Now Lebanon - Roumieh prisoners being gathered into one building, families say - April 6, 2011

Family members of prisoners in Roumieh Prison told NOW Lebanon’s Nadine Elali on Wednesday that they have learned that prisoners are being gathered into one building inside the facility.
They cited a phone call from within the prison, saying that it is unclear why the prisoners were being moved, but that they think it may be a measure to better control the prisoners.
NOW Lebanon’s correspondent also reported that family members gathered outside the prison are throwing stones and other objects at security forces stationed outside the facility.
Members of the Justice and Mercy Association promised the families that they would enter the prison and check on inmates’ conditions, Elali reported, adding that the members were filling a car with food to be taken into the prison.
Security forces stormed the prison on Tuesday after talks failed to secure the release of three guards detained by inmates who have been rioting while demanding an amnesty and better conditions.
