The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Sleiman commends ISF for Bekaa operation - April 11, 2011

President Michel Sleiman called Internal Security Forces (ISF) General Director Ashraf Rifi on Monday to congratulate him for the success of his force’s Sunday operation to apprehend a wanted man in the Bekaa.
Sleiman also expressed condolences to the family of ISF Information Branch member Rashed Sabri, who was killed during the action in Bekaa’s Majdel Aanjar.
Sabri was killed in Sunday’s apprehension of Darweesh Khanjar, who was also shot dead. The latter was believed to be involved in the March kidnapping of seven Estonian bicyclists, who have yet to be rescued.
