The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - STL appoints Marten Youssef as spokesperson - April 5, 2011

The Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) has appointed Marten Youssef as its spokesperson, the tribunal’s website said on Tuesday.
“Marten, who was born and raised in Egypt, is a Canadian citizen.  He has worked as a journalist in the Middle East and Africa, as well as in Canada,” the website said.
“During his three years in Abu Dhabi, Marten was the senior courts and justice reporter for The National newspaper.  Most recently he has worked for The Globe and Mail and The Canadian Press.  Marten studied political science at university, followed by graduate studies in journalism.”
“As the tribunal’s spokesperson, Marten will be the point of contact for all members of the Lebanese and Arab press.  He will speak on behalf of Chambers, the Defence Office and the Registry,” the website added.
