The Daily Star - 10 injured in Hezbollah-Amal clashes - August 04, 2011

By Mohammad Zaatari

SIDON, Lebanon: Ten people were injured overnight when supporters of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement fought with sticks and rocks in the southern town of Adaisseh, a security source said Wednesday.
The source said the quarrel originally erupted Tuesday when Hezbollah members sought to question local Amal members.
Following the incident, residents gathered before the town’s mosque to condemn the assault by Hezbollah.
However, Hezbollah members renewed the assault against the residents as soon as the protest ended raising the number of injured to 10 persons, the source said.
He added that the Lebanese Army intervened, dispersed those fighting, and arrested 10 people. The detainees were taken to the Marjayoun army barracks for further investigation.
Local residents, angry over the arrests, blocked the road to Adaisseh, according to the source. The army, however, managed to reopen the road.
The source said a number of the injured residents were planning to file lawsuits against some Hezbollah members as a result of the incident.
