The Daily Star - Foreign minister meets with UAE deportees - August 12, 2011

BEIRUT: Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour met Thursday with a group of Lebanese who have been deported from the United Arab Emirates.
According to the delegation’s head, Hasan Alyan, the aim of the meeting was to inform the minister that “the issue of [arbitrary] deportation from the UAE is still ongoing and has not stopped.
”Alyan hoped that Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s government would follow up on the two-year-old issue and give it serious attention.
“The Lebanese government must be attentive to this case and communicate with the UAE government to discuss this issue along with other cases such as compensations,” Alyan said, adding that the government must “stop the deportation which was carried out by the UAE government illegally against the Lebanese.”
