The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Police arrest 2 suspect thieves 1 confesses - August 11, 2011


BEIRUT: The police have apprehended two suspected thieves who were active in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, it was announced Wednesday. Two 26-year-old men were caught by a Jounieh branch of the Judicial Police.
A statement by the Internal Security Forces said one of the two confessed to having stolen 11 motorbikes in various parts of Beirut and the southern suburb of Shiyah, as well as committing an armed robbery in Jounieh.
He said he carried out the thefts with an accomplice, who is still at large. The man said he sold the merchandise to the other man who was apprehended with him, although the second man denied the claims.
