The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Road accidents leave 2 dead, several injured - August 03, 2011

BEIRUT: Two men, including a teen, died after a Tuesday morning motorcycle accident in Beirut, a security source told The Daily Star.
Sarmad Yaqoub Youssef, 17, and his passenger, 22-year-old Monique George Eliya, died after a car hit them on the Mar Takla road in the Jdeideh neighborhood east of Beirut, the source said. After the crash, Rania Amin Najjar handed herself over to police.
In another incident, nine people were injured, some seriously, in a car accident on the Beirut-Damascus highway early Tuesday, according to the same source, who said the crash involved three vehicles – a Nissan, Kia and Golf that were driven by George Kamal al-Bustani, Rabih Ali al-Jari and Issmat al-Ashkar respectively.
Separately, a Nissan skidded out of control to land in Beirut River. The driver, Clara Tanios Tannouri, was taken to hospital where she was reported to be stable.
