The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Berri meets Iranian ambassador, discusses Sadr’s case, November 3, 2011

Speaker Nabih Berri met on Thursday at his residence in Ain al-Tineh with Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghadanfar Roken Abadi, the National News Agency reported.Following the meeting the Iranian envoy told reporters that he discussed with Berri “developments on the regional and international levels, in addition to the case of [the disappearance of] Imam Moussa al-Sadr.”“We are making efforts to reveal the fate of Imam Sadr,” Abadi said.Sadr and two companions disappeared in 1978 in Libya. The Amal Movement—which Sadr founded—has accused former Libyan leader Moammer Qaddafi of being behind his disappearance. The Amal Movement is currently led by Berri.The collapse of Qaddafi’s regime in Libya has raised hopes that the fate of Sadr will soon be revealed.
