NOW Lebanon- Charbel says Lebanon must fund STL , November 23, 2011

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel said Lebanon “must pay” its share of funding to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL).
“How can we not implement an [international] decision when we request the UN to implement decisions [regarding] Palestinian refugees [in Lebanon],” Charbel told Sawt al-Mada radio station.
He also said that the tribunal’s work “must be transparent.”
Four Hezbollah members have been indicted by the UN-backed court for the 2005 assassination of ex-Premier Rafik Hariri.
However, the Shia group strongly denied the charges and refuses to cooperate with the court. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Najib Mikati has repeatedly voiced Lebanon’s commitment to the tribunal.

Lebanon contributes 49 percent of the STL’s annual funding.
