The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

iloubnan- Liban Lait CEO released without ransom after four days of captivity, December 11, 2011

Liban Lait CEO Ahmad Zeidan, who was kidnapped on December 7, 2011 in the Bekaa Valley, has been released on Sunday, in an undisclosed area, without ransom.

LBC TV reported that House Speaker Nabih Berri played "a key role" in the release process.

According to the report, the abductors formed a group comprised of three Lebanese and a Syrian national, is the same group that kidnapped a Syrian businessman in Bar Elias last August and demanded ransom.

According to The Daily Star, Zeidan’s driver had reported that the abductors were "highly professional and knew when and where Zeidan would drive by to his factory," ant it was believed that they were seeking a ransom.

"I was truly relieved to learn from Lebanese Army last night, the good news of the release of formerly kidnapped Lebanese citizen," PM Najib Mikati said via Twitter.
