NOW Lebanon- French PM congratulates Mikati on STL decision , December 6, 2011

An-Nahar newspaper reported on Tuesday that French Prime Minister Francois Fillon invited Prime Minister Najib Mikati to Paris and congratulated him for the decision to transfer Lebanon’s share of funding to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL).
“France took note with great positivity of your decision to pay Lebanon’s share of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon’s financing. This reflects your country’s adherence to its international commitments toward the STL,” a copy of the letter obtained by An-Nahar showed.
“Following your personal commitment to [to transfer the STL funds], and [as a result of] our deep bilateral relations, I am glad to invite you to an official visit to France,” the letter said.
The daily also reported that Mikati will visit France in January 2012.
Last week, Mikati announced the transfer of funding to the Netherlands based tribunal probing the 2005 murder of ex-Premier Rafik Hariri.
The STL has indicted four Hezbollah operatives in connection with the murder but they have not surrendered to the court.
