The Daily Star - 16-year-old boy kidnapped near Baalbek for ransom, March 8, 2012

BEIRUT: A 16-year-old Lebanese boy was kidnapped for ransom overnight near Baalbek, a security source told The Daily Star Thursday.
The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said two four-wheel drive Cherokees approached Ali Ahmad al-Mukh along the Ain Bourdai road in Baalbek. One or more men then emerged from the car, snatched Mukh and shoved him into one of the cars before fleeing to an unknown location.
An investigation is under way to determine the teenager’s whereabouts, the source added.
He said the boy’s father, who runs a household goods store in the area, has been in contact with the kidnappers who have demanded a ransom of $200,000.
