Lebanese-Syrian Higher
Council Secretary General Nasri Khoury said Monday evening that “relevant
Syrian authorities” informed him that Lebanese national Sleiman Ahmad will be
released Tuesday.
Khoury told the National
News Agency that the Lebanese army will receive Ahmad on Tuesday afternoon.
The NNA reported on Sunday
that Ahmad, who hails from Wadi Khaled, was kidnapped by unknown assailants.
Following a meeting held in Akkar, the participants, which included local
officials and lawmakers, said Ahmad “was handed over to the Syrian
[authorities].”
