The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Syrian man kidnapped in east Lebanon last week released, June 11 2012


BEIRUT: A Syrian man who was kidnapped in Zahle, east Lebanon, last week was released early Monday, security sources told The Daily Star.
Habib al-Brimo arrived at his house in the early hours of the morning and contacted the Internal Security Forces.
Brimo’s vehicle was intercepted by a group of unidentified men who snatched him from his silver Mercedes and took him in the direction of a mall in the area.
The kidnappers left the car in its place.
The National News Agency reported that Brimo was released in Arsal, northeast of Lebanon, at 12:15 a.m. He kept walking and took several taxis until he reached his house in Zahle.
The report also said that Brimo did not pay a ransom for his release.
