July 23, 2010 - Naharnet - Lahoud Hits Back at Gemayel: Tribunal Targeting Resistance from the Beginning

Former President Emile Lahoud slammed Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel who said Lahoud was the first to raise the issue of setting up an international tribunal to prosecute the killers of ex-PM Rafik Hariri.
A statement issued by his office said quotes attributed to Lahoud were based on "misinformation."

In separate remarks to Al-Manar television, Lahoud said the tribunal has been targeting the Resistance from the beginning.

"At the beginning, when the assassination took place, I said that when one has a clear conscience he cannot be defeated," Lahoud said.

"Because whoever did this (bombing) did it to get to the Resistance which annoys them most," he added.
