The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Man found smuggling 8 kg of heroin to Ukraine - February 23, 2011

BEIRUT: The airport police thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs from Lebanon to Ukraine, the state-run National News Agency reported Tuesday. The NNA said that police forces at Rafik Hariri International Airport confiscated 8 kilograms of pure heroine in the bags of A.S., a 26-year old Lebanese national who was heading to Ukraine. After preliminary investigations, the perpetrator was referred to the anti-drug department for further probes. According to the NNA, it is the third time in two weeks that a drug trafficking attempt was discovered by airport authorities. –The Daily Star
