The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Roumieh Prison riots widely controlled, AFP reports - April 5, 2011

AFP quoted on Tuesday an unnamed security source as saying that security forces have widely controlled the riot in Roumieh Prison.
Internal Security Forces- Special Forces raided the Roumieh Prison earlier on Tuesday to control the protests which broke out on Monday for the second time in 48 hours.
Inmates at Roumieh Prison– which is one of the biggest prisons in the Middle East and holds 4,500 inmates despite being built to hold only 1,500 – had been demanding amnesty and better conditions.
