The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Security forces raid Roumieh Prison - April 5, 2011

Future News television reported on Tuesday that security forces raided block D in Roumieh Prison, and added that they are getting ready to raid the prison’s block B.
MTV also reported that no one died during the riots in the prison, and added that some sustained self-inflicted injuries.
LBC said that negotiations with the prisoners failed, thus security forces had to enter the prison.
Protests in Roumieh’s Prison broke out on Monday for the second time in 48 hours.
Inmates at Roumieh– which is one of the biggest prisons in the Middle East and holds 4,500 inmates despite being built to hold only 1,500 – had been demanding amnesty and better conditions.
