iloubnan - Daher: we seek protection of children, women and family - August 04, 2011

MP Khaled Daher underlined in an interview with OTV channel on Thursday, the importance of the law project related to domestic violence."

"We seek to reach results that ensure the protection of children, women, and family", Daher said.

He explained that this law did not enjoy unanimity due to both Islamic and Christian references, as well as some reservations by a number of jurists. "Yet there is unanimity over the respect of the family," he corroborated.

He underlined that the law-draft was forwarded to the joint committees and that a subcommittee had been hence formed so as to reach the best law formulation in that respect.
