BEIRUT: Police arrested a man on the most-wanted list in Baalbek, east Lebanon, a security source told The Daily Star Friday.
The source said Abbas Hussein Jaafar, wanted on 86 arrest warrants, was apprehended by judicial police in Baalbek before midday Friday.
His criminal history includes charges of killings, kidnappings and multiple robberies at gunpoint, including car thefts, according to the source, who spoke to The Daily Star on condition of anonymity.
He is also wanted for shooting at policemen and Lebanese Army soldiers. Fourteen verdicts have been issued against Jaafar in absentia, the source said, adding that the 25-year-old suspect is currently being interrogated by police.
