NOW Lebanon- Cabinet approves draft law on acquiring Lebanese nationality , December 12, 2011

The cabinet on Monday approved a draft law allowing originally Lebanese people to acquire Lebanese nationality, Minister of Information Walid Daouq told reporters.
Daouq, who left the session before it ended, added that the ministers were still discussing the electoral draft law which is based on proportionality.
He also said that during the session, President Michel Sleiman voiced the importance of resuming the investigation into last week’s attack against UNIFIL in order to reveal who stands behind the incident.
“Security forces have the [authority] to enforce the law on all [Lebanese] lands, and no one will be covered no matter how important they are,” the minister quoted Sleiman as saying.
Five French UN soldiers and a Lebanese civilian were wounded last Friday by a powerful blast that targeted a UNIFIL patrol in Tyre.
