NOW Lebanon- Merhebi: Are officials aware of their duties toward Syrian refugees? , December 14, 2011

Future bloc MP Mouin Merhebi asked on Wednesday evening during an interview with New TV television whether “Lebanese officials are aware of the government’s responsibilities” toward Syrian refugees who are fleeing to Lebanon from violence in Syria.
“Have Lebanese officials lost their humanity?” he asked.
The MP said that “there [is not one] camp to offer assistance to Syrian refugees who are leaving their country due the Syrian army’s suppression of the revolution.”
Thousands of Syrians have fled into Lebanon in recent months, often using illegal border crossings, to escape the unrest gripping their country.
