The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Man kidnapped in east Lebanon, June 4 2012


BEIRUT: A Lebanese man was kidnapped Monday in Baalbek, east Lebanon, by a group of unidentified individuals, security sources told The Daily Star.
Husam Shehadi al-Bsharawi was driving on the main road in Ras Baalbek at around 8.30 a.m. when at least three men compelled him to stop the Subaru he was driving.
The men forced Basharawi out of his vehicle and fled the area with him to an undisclosed location.
The police have launched a probe to uncover the circumstances surrounding the abduction.
