The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Ban lauds Mikati for STL funding, July 19 2012


BEIRUT: United Nations Secretary-General Ban ki-Moon has expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Najib Mikati for Lebanon’s 2012 contribution to the international tribunal prosecuting the assassination of statesman Rafik Hariri.
In addition to discussing the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, Ban, who spoke to Mikati by telephone late Wednesday, voiced his concern about the situation in Syria and expressed strong support for Mikati’s efforts to protect Lebanon's stability and security.
The U.N. secretary-general also underscored the Syrian government's responsibility for stopping gunfire and shelling from Syria into Lebanon, and lamented Lebanese casualties.
He also said he was alarmed at the recent assassination attempts against Lebanese political leaders – Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea and Batroun MP Butros Harb.
