The Daily Star - Kuwaiti NGO hands out aid in run-up to Ramadan, July 19 2012

TRIPOLI, Lebanon: A delegation from a Kuwaiti NGO distributed food aid Wednesday to around 900 Syrian refugee families as part of a project to help people ahead of the Ramadan holiday.
The Mercy International delegation launched the project to help refugees who will fast during the holy month. Wednesday’s assistance reached families who are living between the Akkar villages of Borqayel and Takrit, as well as in several neighborhoods of Tripoli. In addition to providing refugees with iftar meals, the initiative will assist them in paying rent and medical expenses.
The refugees thanked the delegation for the assistance, saying they wanted to spend Ramadan in their homes, after their country’s liberation.
