The Daily Star -Beddawi camp residents protest delay in aid delivery, July 27 2012

TRIPOLI, Lebanon: Lebanese residents of the Beddawi refugee camp blocked a main road leading to Tripoli Thursday to protest delays in the delivery of aid by a charity organization.
The residents laid siege briefly to the organization Beit al-Zakat wal-Khairat, demanding that it step up food deliveries during the month of Ramadan.
The director of the organization, Karami Shalaq, said, “We appreciate the difficult conditions faced by people in the north which requires the declaration of a state of emergency.”
He said his organization had distributed food aid to a number of needy families, “but we condemn the uncivilized method of demonstrating and blocking roads,” which he added were criminal acts punishable under the law.
Shalaq urged “the government and the Higher Relief Committee and all charity associations ... to help expand [aid] to the public, especially during Ramadan, and to all residents.”
