ILoubnan - Derbas The State must set a clear framework regarding the entry of Syrian refugees into Lebanon, April 7, 2014

Minister of Social Affairs, Rashid Derbas, told Voice of Lebanon radio on Sunday that the Lebanese state has to adopt a clear stance regarding influx of Syrian refugees as well as "organize" entry of the Syrian into Lebanon.

The state's policy of ignoring the current situation led to its escalation to a dangerous point. Derbas insisted that Lebanon could not deal with donor countries, United Nations and the international community unless the state set a clear framework similar to that adopted by Jordan and Turkey.

"It is essential that Syrian entry [into Lebanon] is organized and that we have a clear policy with Cabinet's consensus over it."

The Minister also asked for a policy to be adopted towards centers receiving the refugees.
