The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Court sentences murderer to eight years of hard labor

BEIRUT: The Beirut Penal Court sentenced a murderer to eight years of hard labor Thursday after reducing it from 15 years. The court, presided over by Judge Hatem Madi, sentenced Simon George Atallah to prison and fined him LL2 million as personal indemnities for killing Jawad Farah by shooting him at a nightclub in Ayto, Zgharta. – The Daily Star
